Another new line, and very talented designer, I’m really digging these days is BROSE. I think that so many of her things are so cute. A lot of it I can’t wear, but who cares? I can appreciate right?!
Here’s a little bio I’ve written from some research and appreciation.
Toronto Based BROSE Is Pleased to Bring Her Success to the US at Neiman Marcus and Shop Bop. Infusing feminine silhouettes with bohemian prints as well as the soft use of feathers and sequins, designer Marika Brose’s spring collection brings in her love for Mediterranean summers and light femininity with breezy chiffons, summery cocktail dresses adorned with feathers and exquisite beading, and elegant maxi dresses ideal for a spring wedding.
Designer Marika Brose began her career in fashion studying at ESMOD in Paris for fashion design where she learned the essential tools for creating women’s garments. From there Brose moved to New York and attended FIT where she studied fashion merchandising, blending her design aesthetic with creating a collection that would be both commercially successful and trend forward. Upon graduation, Brose secured a prestigious design position at renowned fashion house, Chloe where she worked with the design team to create the brand’s memorable looks. Later, Brose worked with designers like AlexSandro Palombo in Milan and at Pink Tartan in Toronto, honing her eye for fashion while developing her tastes. After her design work was completed, Brose made the transition to the business side of fashion working with Bloomingdales, Holt Renfrew and at Prada before setting off to launch her own collection in Toronto in 2011.
Here’s what I love for spring:
For BROSE’s spring collection, designer Marika Brose, chose gorgeous bohemian printed chiffon maxi dresses, breathy tops of milk-matte gold and light pink, and ultra chic short cocktail dresses expertly adorned with feathers and beading, blending the collection with a pallet of gold, pink, black, white and blue. Elegant long, fitted dresses contrast short, funky cocktail dresses in pink, black and gold, which stand brilliantly against a brightly printed pantsuit for BROSE’s spring collection. Retaining the essence of the brand’s prim woman, BROSE’s entrance to the US market is a noted expansion in the story of this fledgling house that is quickly becoming a new Canadian powerhouse.
